Leadership and the 8 Dimensions: General Charles Krulak, Adviser
For retired U.S. Marine Corps General Charles C. Krulak, being an adviser to 8 Dimension Ventures is all about leadership. As a veteran military and corporate leader, he knows one when he sees one. When Helen Corey, a Partner with 8 Dimension Ventures, invited him to serve as an adviser, he jumped at the opportunity.
“Over the years, I have found that the quality of the leadership, especially the character of the leadership, is critical,” he says. “The reputation of any organisation rests upon the shoulders of the leaders. Since I knew Helen as the epitome of a woman of character, I was certain this was a company I wanted to be part of.”
8 Dimension Ventures is a health and wellness fund that seeks out companies with visionary founders and extraordinary teams that are working to make a difference in people’s lives and in world health. Helen Corey is a Partner along with Michael Fairbairn, who has spent years investing in health and wellness startups. Both are enthusiastic supporters of the importance of all 8 Dimensions of Wellness.
General Krulak believes that the time has come for an investment fund based on the 8 Dimensions of Wellness. “The world is rapidly increasing its understanding of the importance of wellness in all aspects of life and companies that focus on wellness will make a huge contribution.”
General Krulak served for 35 years in the U.S. Marine Corps, ultimately as Commandant of the Marine Corps and as a member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. It was here that he learned the importance of balancing all 8 Dimensions. While Physical and Mental strength are obviously vital in the Marines, he emphasises that all 8 Dimensions are crucial.
After retiring from the Marines, he worked for several years in banking in Europe and the United States. Now, General Krulak serves on the boards of Fortune 500 companies, universities, and non-profits.
He is excited to be an Adviser to a cutting edge organisation like 8 Dimension Ventures. “I am proud to be participating in something that will, as its mission states, ‘bring people and planet together to build a better and brighter future.’”
