What is Physical Wellness?

During the pandemic, our sense of Physical wellness has been challenged. Not only has Covid struck many people, those of us who have avoided it have also felt the Physical toll. We have not been able to exercise as normal and stress levels have soared, which has Physical, Social, and Emotional consequences.

Physical is core to all the 8 Dimensions of Wellness. Without Physical health, it is tough to lift ourselves up maintain balance across the other Dimensions. Many research studies keep showing that Physical activity is inseparable from boosting Mental wellness.

Listen to your body. It is giving you signals about whether you need physical movement or perhaps should rest. Your body tells you when you should sleep to rejuvenate, or that a particular mineral or ingredient is lacking. Give it the audience it deserves.

Nutrition is a vital component of Physical health. While working at home over the past year, many people report overeating due to boredom and stress. For some of us, the pantry is just too close to our computers.

Fortunately, there are many fantastic start-ups that focus on Physical wellness. Our founders at 8 Dimension Ventures have backed some of them, including Apex Rides. While Apex was started before the pandemic in 2018, it really built its cadence when in-home workouts became necessary. It produces a smart bike and app – and delivers hundreds of classes to keep participants fit, motivated, and connected to friends and family. Millions of miles have been ridden!

Apex helps its clients to improve Physical wellness, with a dash of Social support. And that contributes to the Emotional Dimension.
