What is Spiritual Wellness?

The Spiritual component of the 8 Dimensions of Wellness is one of the most important but is often neglected. In fact, the Spiritual Dimension involves a sense of purpose, powerful values, and inner peace.

What does this have to do with investing? A lot. At 8 Dimension Ventures, we believe that it is a fundamental component of selecting companies to support. We seek businesses that have a sense of purpose – one greater than just the bottom line on an income statement.

The Spiritual dimension is often intertwined with several other Dimensions:

  • Environmental: Enjoying the outdoors and nature offers a chance for self-reflection, relaxation, and rejuvenation.

  • Occupational: When we do pay or volunteer work that contributes to our community, we gain a sense of fulfillment and purpose.

  • Emotional: Meditation, stress management, and mindfulness exercises contribute to both our Spiritual and Emotional wellness.

  • Physical: Physical health and exercise can give us self-confidence and help us to maintain our Spiritual health.

Here’s how this plays out in the investment world: As individual investors, we have backed companies like Wellbeing Sisters. It’s dedicated to improving the health and wellness of every woman through all stages of life.

Wellbeing Sisters offers a range of healthy products, including cosmetics, supplements, and drinks like HotTea Mama. Most importantly, however, it offers a platform for women needing support, advice, and tools to navigate fertility issues, pregnancy, motherhood, and menopause.

Wellbeing Sisters is a great example of how the 8 Dimensions are connected. It aids women in their Physical, Emotional, Social, and Environmental health.
